Low temperature environment forklift maintenance: Precautions for BYD cold storage forklift maintenance

Low temperature environment forklift maintenance: Precautions for BYD cold storage forklift maintenance(Image1)

Check points before daily use

Power system special project inspection

The stability of forklift oil and electrical components will be greatly affected in a low temperature environment. Before each start operation, a comprehensive investigation of the power system is required. First, confirm whether the liquid level of the special low-temperature hydraulic oil and lubricating oil meets the standards, and observe whether the oil solidifies or deteriorates. If there is any abnormality, replace the suitable low-temperature oil in time. Secondly, check whether there is condensation or freezing at the joints of the electrical lines of the whole vehicle. Dry the condensation and then start the equipment to avoid short-circuit failures. After starting the equipment in a low temperature environment, it is recommended to run it without load for 3 to 5 minutes to warm up, and then start the load-bearing operation after the components are running smoothly.

Inspection of sealing parts

The low temperature environment will accelerate the aging and brittleness of rubber seals. Before use, it is necessary to check whether the sealing parts around the gantry, steering system, and drive wheel are cracked or leaked. If the seals are found to fail, they should be replaced as soon as possible to avoid low temperature water vapor and impurities entering the parts and causing wear. At the same time, grease suitable for low temperature environment should be added to each movable part to reduce the risk of wear during operation of the parts.

Precautions for operation and maintenance during operation

Reasonable control of work load

The toughness of metal parts in a low temperature environment decreases, and the load-bearing and impact resistance will be slightly reduced. During the operation, the goods should be loaded strictly according to the rated load to avoid overloading and partial loading. When operating, try to control the driving speed as smoothly as possible to reduce the operation of sudden acceleration, sudden braking, and beating direction, reduce the impact stress of the parts, and avoid the problem of component fracture and deformation.

Body frost is cleaned regularly

The humidity in the cold storage is high, and it is easy to adhere to the frost layer on the surface of the body during the forklift operation. During each operation, the frost layer on the surface of the body, door frame, and electrical components should be cleaned in time to avoid the frost layer being too thick to increase the weight of the body. At the same time, it also prevents the frost layer from penetrating into the electrical components after melting, causing corrosion and short-circuit failure.

Parking phase maintenance requirements

Reasonable choice of parking environment

After the daily operation, try not to park the forklift in a cold storage with a temperature below minus zero for a long time. It is recommended to park the vehicle in a transition area with a suitable temperature, so that the remaining frost layer on the body surface will naturally melt and evaporate before drying. Avoid long-term exposure to low temperature and high humidity to accelerate component corrosion. If conditions are limited, you can only park it in the cold storage, and you should also do a good job of body protection to avoid direct contact with cold walls and ground water areas.

Power battery special project maintenance

The battery activity of the electric forklift will decrease with the temperature drop. After the operation, the vehicle should be moved to a room temperature area for charging. Do not charge directly in a low temperature environment to avoid affecting the service life of the battery. Avoid excessive discharge of the battery during daily use. When the remaining power is less than 20%, it is necessary to replenish the power in time. Regularly check the battery terminals for oxidation and icing. Do a good job of insulation protection after cleaning to reduce the risk of leakage and poor contact.
