With the popularity of new energy forklifts in factory handling, warehousing and logistics, etc., the rationality of their safety protection design is directly related to the safety of operators and site property. The current mainstream protection design is mainly divided into the following categories.
Active safety protection design
High voltage circuit safety protection
The power core of the new energy forklift is a high-voltage battery pack. When designed, the high-voltage line will be fully insulated and equipped with a real-time leakage monitoring device. Once the line is detected to be damaged or the leakage value exceeds the standard, the power supply will be cut off immediately. At the same time, sound and light warnings will be issued to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Operation behavior early warning protection
The forklift will be equipped with an operating status recognition system. When it is detected that the driver is not wearing a seat belt according to the specifications, the driving speed exceeds the scene limit threshold, and the turn is not decelerated, a prompt tone will be issued. Some configurations will also actively limit power output to reduce the probability of accidents caused by illegal operations at the source.
passive safety protection design
Car body structure protection
The frame of the forklift will be designed with anti-collision reinforcement. The driver's seat is equipped with anti-fall guardrails and anti-smashing ceilings, which can minimize the risk of extrusion and injury to the driver when the goods fall or the vehicle collides. The fork will also be equipped with a limit device to avoid the load exceeding the safe range when forking the goods.
Emergency response protection
The vehicle will be equipped with an emergency power-off button, which is set within the driver's reach. In the event of an emergency situation such as vehicle loss of control or smoke from the circuit, the power supply of the whole vehicle can be cut off by pressing the button. At the same time, the vehicle will also be equipped with a fire extinguishing device adapted to the power battery to handle the battery fire situation and reduce the risk of fire spread.
Special scene adaptation protection design
For special operation scenarios such as cold chain and chemical industry, new energy forklifts will also be upgraded with corresponding protection, such as thermal insulation protection for battery packs in low temperature scenarios to avoid power interruption caused by low-temperature performance degradation of batteries. In chemical flammable and explosive scenarios, explosion-proof treatment will be performed on the entire vehicle circuit and power system to avoid circuit sparks causing flammable and explosive substances to explode.
When purchasing a new energy forklift, enterprises can focus on the configuration of the corresponding protection design according to their own operating scenarios, and at the same time regularly inspect and maintain the protective devices to ensure the normal operation of various protection functions and ensure the safety of the entire operation process.
