With the popularity of lithium-ion forklifts in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, and other scenarios, 3-ton lithium-ion forklifts are commonly used as operating models, and the service life of their core components, lithium batteries, is a core concern for many users.
The normal service life of a 3-ton lithium-ion forklift battery
Under the premise of routine operating conditions and daily use specifications, the lithium battery of a 3-ton lithium forklift is usually charged and discharged in the range of 2,000 to 3,000 cycles, which can be converted into actual use time, mostly reaching 5 to 8 years. The actual service life will be affected by many factors. If there are long-term irregular operation, extreme environmental operation, and excessive load, the battery's attenuation rate will be significantly accelerated, and the service life will be shortened accordingly.
Maintenance methods to extend battery life
Standardize charging operation
Try to avoid excessive discharge of the battery during daily operation. When the remaining power is about 20%, you can arrange charging. Do not completely exhaust the booster charge, otherwise it will cause irreversible damage to the internal materials of the battery. Avoid overcharging when charging. Disconnect the power supply in time after it is full. Do not connect the charger for a long time. At the same time, use matching charging equipment. Do not mix chargers with inconsistent parameters.
Pay attention to the adaptation of the working environment
Avoid allowing the battery to operate in an extreme temperature environment for a long time. When the ambient temperature is lower than minus 20 degrees Celsius or higher than 45 degrees Celsius, it will affect the internal activity of the battery, which will not only temporarily reduce the discharge capacity, but also accelerate the battery decay and shorten the service life in the long run.
Do a good job of daily inspection and cleaning
Before and after each use of the forklift, you can simply check whether the battery shell is damaged or leaking, and whether the wiring port is loose and oxidized. Clean the dust and oil on the battery surface in time every once in a while to keep the battery surface dry and tidy to avoid the risk of short circuit caused by the accumulation of debris.
Reasonable control of workload
Do not run more than the rated load for a long time in daily operations. Overloading will leave the battery in a state of high current discharge for a long time, accelerating the loss of internal structure. If the vehicle needs to be idle for a long time, fully charge the battery before storing it, and then replenish it every 1 to 2 months to avoid the battery being in a state of power loss for a long time.
Doing the above daily maintenance details can effectively reduce the abnormal loss of the battery, prolong the overall service life, and also improve the operation stability of the 3-ton lithium-ion forklift, reducing the overall operating cost.
