The hydraulic system of a 3-ton electric forklift is the core component that supports the lifting, steering, and tilting functions of the forklift. Its operating state directly affects the operating efficiency and safety of the forklift. Doing a good job in daily maintenance and investigation can effectively reduce the occurrence of failures and reduce operating costs.
Common hydraulic system problems
Oil leakage is one of the most common failures of hydraulic systems. After long-term use, natural aging of seals, loose pipeline interfaces, or long-term high system pressure during operation may lead to leakage in the position of cylinders and pipeline joints, which will not only cause hydraulic oil loss, but also affect operation efficiency due to insufficient pressure. The leaked oil will also pollute the working environment.
Insufficient power is another type of high-frequency problem, mainly manifested as the slow lifting speed of the fork and the heavy steering operation, mostly due to insufficient hydraulic oil stock, blocked oil filter caused by oil passage, or unreasonable pressure parameter setting of the overflow valve. If left untreated for a long time, it will exacerbate the wear of core components such as hydraulic pumps and cylinders and shorten the service life of components.
The abnormal noise of the hydraulic system also needs attention. If you hear abnormal noise and vibration in the position of the hydraulic pipeline and pump body during operation, it is mostly due to the oil passage entering the air, the internal wear of the hydraulic pump, or the high viscosity and poor fluidity of the hydraulic oil. If the abnormal noise is not checked in time, it is likely to cause sudden failure and affect the safety of the operation.
Key points of core maintenance of hydraulic system
Regular inspection and replacement of hydraulic oil is the core step of maintenance. It is necessary to regularly check the cleanliness and viscosity of hydraulic oil according to the cycle of vehicle use specifications. Once it is found that the oil has excessive impurities, emulsification, and deterioration, it is necessary to replace the corresponding hydraulic oil in a timely manner. When replacing, the oil filter should be replaced synchronously. During the refueling process, matching filter equipment should be used to avoid external impurities from mixing into the oil circuit.
Do a good job of daily inspection of sealing components and pipelines. Before daily operations, check the sealing of the cylinder and pipeline interfaces. If the seals are found to have signs of cracking, deformation, and aging, they should be replaced in time. When replacing, choose the appropriate type of seal. Pay attention to protecting the sealing surface during installation to avoid subsequent leakage caused by scratches.
It is also important to develop standardized operating habits. Do not overload for a long time during operation to avoid the hydraulic system being under high pressure load for a long time. When operating the lifting and steering rods, use gentle force, and do not yank and push the operating rod to reduce the damage to internal components caused by hydraulic shock and prolong the overall service life of the system.
Doing a good job of preventive maintenance of the hydraulic system of a 3-ton electric forklift can effectively reduce the failure rate, reduce maintenance costs, and improve the safety of the operation process to ensure stable operation efficiency.
