The first step in selecting the height is to measure the effective clearance of the high shelf area. The effective clearance here does not refer to the total height from the floor of the warehouse to the top, but the vertical distance from the bottom of the top beam of the shelf to the lowest obstacle at the top of the warehouse. Common obstacles include fire pipes, ventilation pipes, lighting fixtures, etc. After measurement, the industry usually reserves a certain safety margin to avoid the equipment door frame from touching the above objects during contraction or lifting, so as to ensure the safety of the operation.
The second step is to clarify the number of layers of goods to be picked up and placed on a daily basis, as well as the upper limit of the stacking height of each layer of goods including pallets. The lifting height needs to meet the height of the bottom surface of the pallet of the uppermost layer of goods from the ground, plus the operating allowance when picking up and placing goods. The operating allowance can be determined according to the type of goods. For example, you can leave a little space for picking and placing ordinary and regular boxed goods, and you can increase the size or easy-to-slide goods appropriately.
It should also be considered in combination with the type of gantry of the forward-moving lithium-ion forklift. Some forward-moving lithium-ion forklifts can be equipped with three-stage fully free gantry, which has a lower overall height when fully contracted. It is suitable for the gantry to pass through the channel or area with limited headroom in the contracted state, and then gradually unfold the gantry to lift the goods when lifting. If there are no special obstacles above the channel, the gantry with suitable structure can also be selected according to the shelf conditions.
In addition, when purchasing, you can check the lifting curve of the equipment to ensure that the heaviest goods in daily operations can be safely lifted at the target lifting height, because as the lifting height increases, the rated lifting weight of some equipment will change.
