Điều kiện khởi động và dừng tần số cao như trung tâm vận chuyển, khu vực bốc dỡ cảng và các cảnh khác, xe nâng cần khởi động và dừng thường xuyên, hành động phanh cực kỳ thường xuyên, tốc độ mài mòn của miếng ma sát sẽ được tăng tốc đáng kể. Trong điều kiện làm việc này, miếng ma sát cần phải chọn vật liệu có khả năng chống mài mòn vượt trội, đồng thời đảm bảo hệ số ma sát vẫn ổn định trong quá trình sử dụng lâu dài, tránh giảm hiệu suất phanh do mài mòn.
