Three-point and four-point cold storage forklifts: analysis of the differences between BYD's two models

Three-point and four-point cold storage forklifts: analysis of the differences between BYDs two models(Image1)

With the rapid development of the cold chain storage industry, dedicated electric forklifts suitable for low-temperature environments have become important equipment for improving the efficiency of cold storage operations. Among them, three and four points are the two types of electric forklifts that are widely used in current cold storage scenarios. Many operators find it difficult to distinguish between the two types of models when purchasing.

Structural design core differences

Structural characteristics of three-point cold storage forklift

The three-point model has two support wheels in front of the chassis and a single drive wheel in the middle of the rear. The overall body structure is more compact and the weight is relatively light. The drive wheels of this type of model can realize large-angle steering, and with the compact body design, the turning flexibility is higher. In order to adapt to the low temperature and high humidity environment of the cold storage, the circuit and hydraulic parts of the model have been specially treated with moisture-proof and antifreeze treatment, which can adapt to the conventional sub-zero low temperature working environment.

Structural characteristics of four-point cold storage forklift

The chassis of the four-pivot model is equipped with two support wheels at the front and rear, and the drive wheels are mostly arranged on both sides of the front or rear of the chassis. The overall chassis structure is wider and the weight is relatively higher. This type of model has more support points, stronger body stability under static and dynamic conditions, and is also equipped with moisture-proof and antifreeze components for cold storage. Some models can be adapted to lower temperature cryogenic operation scenarios.

Application scenario difference

The turning radius of the three-point cold storage forklift is smaller, and it is more suitable for small cold storage and high-shelf cold storage with narrow channel widths. It is suitable for carrying goods under 1.5 tons to complete short-distance turnover and stacking operations, and is more efficient in storage areas with dense cargo spaces.

The four-point cold storage forklift has a stronger carrying capacity, with a conventional load of up to 2 tons to 3 tons. It is more suitable for large-scale cold chain logistics centers with sufficient channel width. It is suitable for long-distance transportation, loading and unloading of heavy-duty goods, and has better adaptability to the slightly uneven ground of the cold storage. It has higher stability for long-term heavy-duty operations.

Buying suggestions

When the operator purchases two types of models, he can first count the channel width, conventional cargo load, operation frequency and other core parameters of his cold storage. If the channel width of the cold storage is less than 3 meters and the daily high-frequency turnover of small tonnage goods, the three-pivot model can be preferred. If the channel width of the cold storage is more than 3.5 meters and the daily loading, unloading and transshipment of heavy-duty goods, the four-pivot model can be preferred. Both types of models can meet the operation requirements of the conventional cold storage, and the core is to match their own operating scene parameters.
