Preparation and inspection before charging
Before charging, first confirm that the charging environment meets the requirements. Try to choose a ventilated and dry indoor area away from flammable and explosive items. Avoid charging in high temperature exposure, rain and snow in the open air environment to prevent the battery from being damp or causing safety hazards due to abnormal temperature. To check the remaining power of the forklift, it is more appropriate to charge when the remaining power is in the range of 20% to 30%. Do not wait until the power is completely exhausted to avoid excessive discharge of the battery and damage to the internal structure. At the same time, check whether there is dust, water stains or foreign objects in the charging interface. Clean it up in time and then connect the charger to avoid abnormal charging caused by poor contact.
Standard operation during charging
When connecting the charger, plug it into the charging interface of the forklift end first, and then plug it into the socket of the power end to avoid damage to the battery due to current shock. Do not plug and unplug the charging connector at will during the charging process, and do not start the forklift operation to prevent irreversible damage to the battery due to current fluctuations. Pay attention to the temperature change of the battery during charging. If you find that the surface temperature of the battery exceeds 45 degrees Celsius, temporarily stop charging. Continue after the temperature drops to the normal range to avoid high temperature accelerating battery aging. In addition, do not use chargers with mismatched parameters to charge to avoid damage to battery activity due to voltage and current discrepancies and shorten the use time.
Charging maintenance at the end of charging and long-term storage
After charging is completed, unplug the power supply socket first, and then unplug the charging interface on the forklift end to avoid safety risks caused by electric sparks. Do not overcharge for a long time. Generally, the charger jumps to the green light and then floats for 1 to 2 hours to power off. Long-term overcharging will cause the active material of the battery plate to fall off and reduce the battery capacity. If the forklift is not used for a long time, it should be recharged every 1 to 2 months to keep the battery power between 60% and 80%. Avoid sulfate problems caused by long-term battery loss and greatly shorten the service life. Daily charging should develop fixed operating habits to avoid frequent fast charging. Try to use the slow charging mode in non-emergency situations, which can better protect the battery structure and prolong the overall service life.
